Senior year, I was fortunate to work with the Temple University College of Engineering as a Graphic Design Intern. While gaining experience in a corporate setting, I had to follow a previously integrated branding strategy. This was a new challenge. Below are many designs I made, including a billboard, advertising campaign, and Senior Design book publications.

The Senior Design book is published every semester to showcase senior engineering students’ final projects. I was tasked to design books for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. Below are images of the Fall 2020 book’s cover treatment. 

For the interior of the books, I had to create interior spreads all from scratch. Thus, I used grids to create a seamless way to display the information about the Senior Design teams within the book. I also had to execute an interior advertisement for the College of Engineering. Examples of the interior spreads and the advertisement for the Fall 2020 book are shown below.

The Spring 2021 Senior Design Book proved to be a bigger challenge. There were more teams, new design treatments, and we had to add a two-page article written about one of the Design teams. These challenges were thought through and were solved by me. I wanted to make sure this book was as great as can be, as the final project completed in my internship. Below is the cover treatment for the Spring 2021 Senior Design Book.

The content inside the book stayed relatively the same as the Fall Senior Design version. This is because the College of Engineering values consistency within their publications, so I was tasked to keep that in mind when designing. One different aspect, though, was the removal of the in-book advertisement and replacing it with a two-page article detailing one of the Senior Design team’s projects. The interior spreads of the book are shown below.

While in my internship, I also had the opportunity to conceive an advertising campaign. This included digital signage and a billboard. I had to come up with three designs for the billboard that was later displayed by Lincoln Financial Field, where the Philadelphia Eagles play. Below are three designs I created, with the first one being the final chosen billboard.

Below is a reworked digital advertisement mockup based on the chosen billboard design. This advertisement was displayed in the Philadelphia Business Journal. Additionally, this sign became a digitized monitor advertisement displayed in the College of Engineering.
